Error retrieving manual attachments from SOFFDB

I created a new HTTP content server that uses Archive link. So all the scanned documents are getting saved in content server which is fine.

But when I switch SOFFDB repository from SAP Database to point to HTTP Content repository, the new documents that are manually attached after the switch are able to be viewed properly.

 

The old documents that were previously on SAP database, when tried to open now throws an error "Database error for <GET DATA FROM KPRO> <>"

 

This error is definitely because of the switch to new content server. My question is

 

1) Do I need to migrate all the documents from SAP Database to HTTP Content server before switching SOFFDB to content server?

 

2) Where do I find the path of the documents. I just see them in SOOD table and from the configuration in OAC0, I could see that the physical path is mentioned as /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/, but could not find the documents at that location. What is the physical location of the documents that go through SOFFDB (and on SAP database).

How to archive non SAP documents using open text

Hello Experts,

 

Greetings, I have a requirement to archive the non SAP documents like E-mail, scanned document and scanned images using the open text.

This is something new for me and as well as for my customer.

At this moment the current system is completely manual the letters or emails (both inbound and outbound) are stored in paper based system. They want to change this system by using the open text.

 

Scenario may be like this for a business partner there will be lot of Inbound and Outbound communications happening, all these communications should be stored in Open text (or equivalent storage using Open text) and the link should be stored against the business partner.

 

I have few questions regarding this.

 

1. Which team will take care of the integration of Open text with SAP?

2. Once the Open text is integrated with SAP how can I archive the non SAP documents through Open text? (Just an overview or Step by Step procedure will help me)

ACL is not working properly

Dear Experts,

 

I have checked the checkboxes for ACL FLAG and Edit ACL in DCSWITCH. But the Authorization tab is not coming in transactions CV01N (Create Document), CV02N (Change Document) and CV03N (Display Document).

 

Please suggest the solution for the same and why its not working?

Error during import of physical document

Dear All

 

We are working on an Integration project with third party DOCUMENTUM regarding invoice parking. After invoice is parked Documentum is following below steps to send vendor invoice through URL in the parked invoice document.

1) Job establishes JCO connection to SAP.
2) From the SAP side, it invokes BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE
3) Creates DIR link and object links.

When we try to view the attachment then system tries to establish IMC Connection and below error is dispalyed:

 

Error during import of physical document (A2, AIRCEL_EDMS_UAT:/DCTM37027D9580002C0C) from cluster table SDOKCONT1

 

We are not having DMS Module configured. We are working on ECC 6.0.

 

Can we use the functionality w/o DMS configuration. Kindly help to resolve the issue.

File not opening in Easy DMS in window xp service pack 03

Hi,

 

After up gradation from ECC6.0 TO EHP5     we are not able open file from SAP EASY DMS but  we can able to open the same file  from SAP GUI, this is also

 

happening only in WINDOWS XP SERVICE PACK 3 SYSTEMS, but in WINDOWS XP SERVICE PACK 2 SYSTEMS it is opening from Easy dms .

Addnl data for plant 4600 is not being displyed in CV03N

Hi,

 

I am creating document through BAPI BAPI_DOCUMENT_LOAD and its working fine for all document types and plant except plant 4600. When I am passing plant 4600 the document number gets generated successfully but I am not able to see anything in Addnl tab at CV03N. Please let me know the solution for this.

OpenText Enterprise Scan 10.2  with OpenText Archive Server10.5. I am trying to configure scanning will be directly indexed and archive to opentext Archive server  for the OpenText Enterprise Scan client ( scanning station )

Hello experts,

 

 

I am a SAP basis consultant and I am working for a SAP archiving project.  Client will user OpenText archive server as their archiving managing platform. Unfortunately, we do not have any experience with OpenText archiving experience. In addition, OpenText even does not own an office in China Mainland (only a sales office in China HongKong, SAP resale license for them in China Mainland).

 

 

 

I am wondering whether you can help me by providing configuration guide (step by step is preferable) for SAP archive solution?

 

 

P.S. Client will use OpenText 10.0 with SAP ECC 6.06.

SAP EasyDMS 7: Only FOL document type available when creating documents

Dear all:

 

 

When the users want to create a folder in EasyDMS 7.1  through "Create" a pop window appears and offers the user the possibility of creating several different document types. We would like to limit them only to type FOL. However we could not find if the limitation may come through an authorization object (that should be removed) or is there another option to indicate that a user or a user group can only create folder of document type FOL so to say?

How to restrict users uploading document during creation of PR/PO.

Hello Friends,

 

I have one question possibly related to GOS. How to restrict users uploading document during creation of PR/PO.

Presently users are able to upload using this option which is getting stored in SAP Server and it is required to stop this and allow users only to link the document to PR/PO and not allow to upload in PR/PO only.

CV01n for Purchase order

Hi All,

 

 

I have configured for attaching documents in CV01N for Purchase order (EKPO).

After attaching the document can I see the document in ME23N GOS button? Because I am able to navigate through PO number in CV04

but not able to view the document in ME23N GOS. Please Help.

SMTP mail service log

We have a SAP Portal 7.3 with a SMTP regularly configured in "System configuration/KM/CM/Global service".

A Java application sends email to specific email address via the SMTP gateway.

 

Is there a way to see a log of smtp email requests started from the SAP Portal ?

SAP DMS Configuration - Change Content Server

Hello Everyone;

 

I am working on an ERP 6.0 system that has a working DMS system along with it. I am using MAXDB 7.6 for my DMS system.

 

The current external content server is a physical machine. I took a snapshot from this physical machine, and created a new virtual machine from it.

 

What I need to do now is to assign this new virtual machine as an external content server instead of the current physical machine.

 

I started working on OAC0 to edit the current content repository, and changed only the current HTTP Server IP from my old physical machine to the new http server of the virtual machine which should be the exact image as my old content server.

 

Is changing the HTTP Server is the only thing I need to change to switch from my old content server to the new content server taking into consideration that my new virtual machine is an exact image of the old content server.

Relationship between change type and profile type

Iam curious to find out the relationship between these two in an ECR/CM.

 

In CM,the changetype is 0 but still there is an option to select profile type-wonder why.

Also,normally we select the profile type in accordance with change type.

What would happen if I select change type 104 and profile type say Z_107.

similarly,how would it affect my CM if I select profile type say Z_108 ,instead of z_ecm.

Printing of DMS documents (attachments of PO) when PO is printed

Hello All,

 

Below is the functionality that we are trying to acheive : -

 

1) We have the facility to provide attachments at the PO item level.

2) These attachments are the DMS documents which are created in transaction CV01N.

3) Requirement is, whenever PO form is printed through messsage type automatically all the attachments (in the line item of PO) must also get printed.

 

We have investigated and identified the following issues until now: -

 

1)  Printing of DMS documents involves frontend printing (i.e. SAP spool is not generated, its normal printing ). Is there a way to print this DMS document to Spool rather than using frontend printing ?

 

2) We can access the DMS documents data in Binary/xstring format but there is no way with which we can stream this binary/xstring data to spool ?

 

3) Whenever we try to print the attachments using frontend printing, incase of PDF files the file just opens and it is not printed automatically. Is there a way to print this PDF's automatically without opening it using frontend printing ?.

 

4) A temporary copy of the originals in the DMS documents is created in the local directory C:\tmp\. Is there a way (apart from manual way) to delete these temporary copies automatically once they are printed ?

 

Any help on the above issues will really help.

Is there a possibility of scanning vendor invoices directly to the content repository?

Hi guys,

 

I am working on a implementation project for SAP VIM by OpenText. This solution normally involves scanning clients which are doing the transferring of the scanned invoices to the content repository. OpenText normally uses Enterprise Scan, which will require manual indexing of the relative information (i.e. company code, scan codes, etc.). The client doesn't want to do the manual indexing and they require that the invoices will just be fed to the scanner and it will automatically go to the content repository.

 

I just like to know if there is such a way to meet the client's requirements. They are saying that for other businesses using SAP, it is something possible. Please let me know your comments on this. Thanks!

CV04N search with multiple documents and versions

CV04N is great for searching for documents in SAP DMS.  The problem is when you want to search for a specific version of a document using a long list of document numbers and versions.  Yes it is possible to paste a list of document numbers and version numbers into CV04N, but the problem is that all versions in the version list are used as search criteria for each document in the document list.  What I want is for CV04N to search for the first document in the document list (eg. 123) along with the first version in the version list (eg 01).  The second document in the list (eg. 457) I'd like to use the second version (eg 05) in the list as the search criteria, etc, etc.

 

Is there a way to do this with standard CV04N?  Is there customization available?
