We have a SAP Portal 7.3 with a SMTP regularly configured in "System configuration/KM/CM/Global service".

A Java application sends email to specific email address via the SMTP gateway.

Is there a way to see a log of smtp email requests started from the SAP Portal ?

Thank you,

Luigi

Hi Experts,

What is the best content management solution (central repository of docs/images etc.,) that can be integrated with SAP cloud for customer. We have SAP ECM, SAP Extended ECM offered by opentext and other SAP suite products offered by opentext.

Can you please highlight the differences between these products and suggest a CMS preferably in cloud which can be integrated with SAP C4C.

OpenText Enterprise Scan to OpenText Archive Server

Hi all,

I've installed OpenText Enterprise Scan and I have to archive documents to OpenText Archive Server.

After having scanned document, I try to archive it to my AS.

In document pipeline for SAP I find that something goes wrong because of lack of authorization.

Called URL, in fact, has an ixUser field which value is O.S. user and doesn't have secKey field, that is required by Archive Server.

Can someone help me with authorization configuration in order to correctly insert secKey field or to correctly archive document from client to server?

Thank you in advance.

Forced Sequencing of Online Objects in Learning Items

Has anyone had any success in forcing the sequence of alternating Content Objects and Exam Objects in a Learning Item? We attempted to set the  Online Content in the Learning item with six Content Objects each followed by an Exam Object. After completion of the first Content Object and Exam Object, the second Content Object was not available to open. Is it only Content Objects which can be used in a Force Sequence mode?

How can ECMI be used within SAP ERP?

$

Hello,

With NetWeaver 7.03/7.31, some new Enterprise Content Management Integration (ECMI) functionality was introduced, as announced in this document (page 14):

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/70096c68-b5e6-2e10-899f-ba197cf5c5d7?overridelayout=true

However, apart from some limited information at help.sap.com, I have been unable to find any details about how this new functionality can be used from within SAP ERP.

As it offers CMIS compliance, I imagine this enables SAP users to access documents in external, 3rd party CMIS compliant repositories and for non-SAP users to access content stored in SAP repositories which are also now CMIS compliant.  This is what I hope it offers, but if anyone can direct me to any sources of information that explain how this is actually achieved (what needs to be configured in SAP, does it integrate natively with DMS, etc.?) I would be very pleased

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Hi All

As per the business requirements, I need to integrate SAP PI and SAP ECM.

An SFTP folder shall exist on ECM system and PI should be able to read and write to this folder. Can someone provide the steps to achieve this?

Also, can folders in ECM system be accessed by other systems (SAP PI/ BODS etc) like a file system without using API's?

Content Server 6.50 Cache Server Test URL returns blank page

Hi,

I am migrating from 32-bit 6.40 Content Server on MaxDB 7.5.00.51 (source) to 64-bit 6.50 Content Server on MaxDB 7.9.08.23. (target) using MaxDB Database Studio 7.9.08.27 to create backups on the source server and execute recoveries on the target server.

SAP Hostagent SAPHOSTAGENT203_203-20005735.SAR has been installed. SAP Note 2028088 for IIS roles has been installed. SAP Note 684106 has been applied (r3dllinst and vcredist) and MSVCR71.DLL has been applied. Ports 1090 and 1095 are open on the internal network for this server and the local system firewall has been disabled on the target server.

When I call the test url for the newly installed content server I receive the following:

serverType="SAP HTTP Content Server";serverVendorId="Copyright SAP AG, All rights reserved 1998, 2001";serverPatch="0";serverStatus="running";serverStatusDescription="";serverDate="2015-02-10";serverTime="16:07:14";startUpDate="2015-02-10";startUpTime="10:58:13";lastAccessDate="2015-02-10";lastAccessTime="16:04:28";

However, when I call the test url for the cache server, I receive a blank page.

When I test the connection in IIS server (Sites: SAP Cache Server: Basic Settings: Test Settings) I receive and authorization error: Cannot verify access to path (C:\Program Files\SAP\CacheServer). Details are:

"The server is configured to use pass-through authentication with a built-in account to access the specified

physical path. However, IIS Manager cannot verify whether the built-in account has access. Make sure that the

application pool identity has Read access to the physical path. If this server is joined to a domain, and the

application pool identity is NetworkService or LocalSystem, verify that <domain>\<computer_name>$ has Read access

to the physical path. Then test these settings again."

The permissions for the files and directories in the path are the same as for the Content Server dll.

Please advise as to whether this is an issue, or can be ignored

Cache server backup has been successfully restored. I am waiting on file transfer for the Content Server SDB restore.

Many thanks in advance for any information.

PS. Just checked the same settings for Content Server in IIS and I think the IIS Authorization error might be a red herring. Doesn't change the issue of getting a blank page in response to calling the Cache Server test url.

Hello experts,

I am trying to check the value of a characteristic when I save a document in CV01N/CV02N.

I am using  IF_EX_DOCUMENT_MAIN01~BEFORE_SAVE but I have no access to classification information.

I have seen that in the same implementation there is a method call BEFORE_SEARCH_DATA that has the classification data.

How can I acces that information??

Thanks in advance.

Http 404 error in CSADMIN

Hello

We installed SAP Content server following the guide "ContServ_UNIX_640ContServ_UNIX_640" on a new server without MAXDB. We need to use the File system as storage type. We are doing this for the first time.  Below are the details

OS: Linux

Apache version 2.0

After the sapinst was successfully compelted, I am unable to proceed further with the post installation steps that says

1. Set up repositories.

2. Make the repositories known to your SAP system.

3. Issue certificates, if necessary.

4. Change the password for the database users.

In the SAP system, when I tried to create a Content repository in OAC0 by selecting 'HTTP Content Server' as the storage type, it is failing with HTTP 404 error always.

I filled the following fields while creating the content repository

Version: 0046

HTTP server: IP Address of the content server

Port: Default port

HTTP script:

Could you kindly help to answer the following:

1) Wat storage type needs to be selected for the File system. Is it Http content server, logical repository, RFC archive or Structure storage system?

2) What are the steps for the file system as storage type.

Printing of DMS documents (attachments of PO) when PO is printed

$

Hello All,

Below is the functionality that we are trying to acheive : -

1) We have the facility to provide attachments at the PO item level.

2) These attachments are the DMS documents which are created in transaction CV01N.

3) Requirement is, whenever PO form is printed through messsage type automatically all the attachments (in the line item of PO) must also get printed.

We have investigated and identified the following issues until now: -

1)  Printing of DMS documents involves frontend printing (i.e. SAP spool is not generated, its normal printing ). Is there a way to print this DMS document to Spool rather than using frontend printing ?

2) We can access the DMS documents data in Binary/xstring format but there is no way with which we can stream this binary/xstring data to spool ?

3) Whenever we try to print the attachments using frontend printing, incase of PDF files the file just opens and it is not printed automatically. Is there a way to print this PDF's automatically without opening it using frontend printing ?.

4) A temporary copy of the originals in the DMS documents is created in the local directory C:\tmp\. Is there a way (apart from manual way) to delete these temporary copies automatically once they are printed ?

Any help on the above issues will really help.

Thanks & Regards,

Rinkesh Doshi

Is there a possibility of scanning vendor invoices directly to the content repository?

$

Hi guys,

I am working on a implementation project for SAP VIM by OpenText. This solution normally involves scanning clients which are doing the transferring of the scanned invoices to the content repository. OpenText normally uses Enterprise Scan, which will require manual indexing of the relative information (i.e. company code, scan codes, etc.). The client doesn't want to do the manual indexing and they require that the invoices will just be fed to the scanner and it will automatically go to the content repository.

I just like to know if there is such a way to meet the client's requirements. They are saying that for other businesses using SAP, it is something possible. Please let me know your comments on this. Thanks!

Jaycee

Content Server connection problems

Hi All,

we have a strange problem at our customers systems regarding to the Content Server connection/communication. We

have an SAP ERP system (EHP7, Win 2012, ASE 16) and a Content Server (6.50, max DB 7.9) on different hosts. The

customer uses it store invoices, using a scanner to scanning the invoices, that is putting them in pdf on

the CS host and there a developed program (PdfToSapInterface.exe) sending the document into the CS using a BAPI program to

add a pre-generated (by SAP) barcode to the invoice and with this number the invoice is stored in the CS, and a scanned

pdf is goning into an Archive folder.

Usually it is working fine, but sometimes (more times in a day) this method does not work, there is no any regularity in it. When it is

happening the document going into the Archive folder, but the document is missing from the content server, it is not possible to read it in ERP transaction OAAD.

At this time in SMGW we can see the following error message:

Thu Apr 28 10:35:58 2016

No more details about the error there.

The problem often exist when it tries to store more than 2 documents in the same time.

In my head there are two possible problem source could be:

  1. Network problem ( I haven't got any proof about this)
  2. Performance problem at the Content Server

Is anybody have any idea how can we find any solution for this problem?

Is it possible to check/monitoring the performance of the Content Server somehow?

Thank you!

Regards,

Andras
