The SAP Content server installation and content repository creation in SAP has been done in our sandbox system. The connectivity test from SAP to SAP content server is also Good. I have used the Filesystem as the storage type.
When tried to add security to it by activating the below fields in cs.conf, I am unable to login with 'sapcs' user in SAP whenever I login to CSADMIN. It says "HTTP error: 401 Authorization Required Bad local password for user sapcs"
AdminSecurity=1
AdminSecurityGroup=sapsys
I checked that the user 'sapcs' is part of /etc/passwd file and it also is a member of 'sapsys' group, but login still fails with the same error. Can someone help here?

Hello experts,
I am trying to check the value of a characteristic when I save a document in CV01N/CV02N.
I am using IF_EX_DOCUMENT_MAIN01~BEFORE_SAVE but I have no access to classification information.
I have seen that in the same implementation there is a method call BEFORE_SEARCH_DATA that has the classification data.
How can I acces that information??

We migrated all the HR documents from Documentum to SAP Content server. Our content server is using Archive link as the type. We are able to open the documents from PA20, which opens with Windows photo viewer. But we are unable to print from wondows photo viewer.
The error says "Windows can't find this picture. Check the location and try again".
When the document was on documentum, we were able to print them after displaying through PA20. Can you please help.

I want to set an external file server to store documents via the archive link. I set up an RFC connection, and configured in a content repository IMG OAC0 type RFC for Archive link. But do not get it to work. When I try to attach a document Archive link shows me an error message: No OA721 "AP ArchiveLink (storage system message: Storing not possible) "

Greetings, I have a requirement to archive the non SAP documents like E-mail, scanned document and scanned images using the open text.
This is something new for me and as well as for my customer.
At this moment the current system is completely manual the letters or emails (both inbound and outbound) are stored in paper based system. They want to change this system by using the open text.
Scenario may be like this for a business partner there will be lot of Inbound and Outbound communications happening, all these communications should be stored in Open text (or equivalent storage using Open text) and the link should be stored against the business partner.
I have few questions regarding this.
1. Which team will take care of the integration of Open text with SAP?
2. Once the Open text is integrated with SAP how can I archive the non SAP documents through Open text? (Just an overview or Step by Step procedure will help me)

We installed SAP Content server following the guide "ContServ_UNIX_640ContServ_UNIX_640" on a new server without MAXDB. We need to use the File system as storage type. We are doing this for the first time. Below are the details
OS: Linux
Apache version 2.0
After the sapinst was successfully compelted, I am unable to proceed further with the post installation steps that says
1. Set up repositories.
2. Make the repositories known to your SAP system.
3. Issue certificates, if necessary.
4. Change the password for the database users.
In the SAP system, when I tried to create a Content repository in OAC0 by selecting 'HTTP Content Server' as the storage type, it is failing with HTTP 404 error always.
I filled the following fields while creating the content repository
Version: 0046
HTTP server: IP Address of the content server
Port: Default port
HTTP script:
Could you kindly help to answer the following:
1) Wat storage type needs to be selected for the File system. Is it Http content server, logical repository, RFC archive or Structure storage system?
2) What are the steps for the file system as storage type.

2. I asked our internal IT people about this and they suggested I look here.
When we make a new release of one of our products, we need to create a set of folders and documents in SAP Document Management. Currently, we do this manually with the SAP Easy DMS GUI. Even with our process checklists, this is an error prone task. the closest we have to automating this is a "template" set of folders and empty documents, but this still requires manually transcribing SAP Document Numbers in to the actual documents, then "loading" those documents into the empty SAP documents.
I have searched in several forums on this site and not found anything that even tells me if this is possible to automate, let alone a direction for further searching. I do know enough perl and bash scripting to automate creating the various release documents from templates and a list of SAP Document Numbers, so the missing peices are creatation of the folders and documents in SAP DMS, fetching the Document Numbers and loading the actual documents into the SAP DMS documents.
Can someone point me where to find this information?

I have Content Server installed on an AIX 6.1 server. Everything works fine until I turn adminsecurity on (=1).
When I do that, it asks for a login. Neither my SAP account nor my AIX account works.
I did some research that says that the entries in /etc/shadow needs to be the same as /etc/password.
Well, here's my issue, AIX doesn't have a /etc/shadow file. It has an /etc/security/passwd (which contains the password) and an /etc/security/user (which contains settings of the user). Has anyone had any experience with this? I want to have admin security on, and I'd prefer to not have to use NIS, but if I have to, I will.

Hi experts,
I want to integrate a custom report in a case record and be able to catch the context (Case GUID or CASE_ID...) for executing properly my custom report.
For integrating a report in a record using service provider for report (type RM_PS_SPS_REPORT), I assign to the node of the model the value of the attribute i would need for executing properly my custom report, to the context parameter VSELNAME. For example: REC=SRM_DOC_ID.
Moreover, in the property of my element type 'ZRM_PS_SPS_REPORT', i also set the value 'SRM_RFC_SUBMIT_REPORT' to the parameter ID 'FUNCTIONMODULE_EXECUTE'.
When executing the report node, I will get the value of SRM_DOC_ID in my SRM_RFC_SUBMIT_REPORT (in the structure table rspar) and then I can launch with the context my custom report.
This is not working with case record (structure tabe rspar is empty: an exeception occurs in the CL_SRM_SP_PROP_REPOSITORY) .
How could I achieve this requirement in a case record?

Does anyone know of a way to move documents from the create attachment option in GOS to ArchiveLink? I don't want to simply migrate the repository, I want to migrate historical documents to ArchiveLink to a generic document type in ArchiveLink.

I am working now as an SAP VIM Consultant and I am currently working on a project that plans to take advantage of the VIM Solution by OpenText. As I know that you are the expert on this, it will be highly appreciated if you can provide your comments/references on the following:
1. Based on the last discussion that I had before with a Senior OpenText Consultant, ICC requires an invoice template for the automatic invoice field recognition to work properly. Is this still the case or has OpenText moved away with the template thing?
2. This will be dependent on the answer for the first question. If ICC still requires templates, will this affect the response time of the system to do the automatic recognition of invoices? I know that this will not have an impact but I just want to make sure on this.
3. I have seen a phrase in the OpenText documents about 'Full-text search'. Please let me know what does this mean?
4. With regards to the PO/invoice approval, can OpenText VIM link it to the HCM or is it still preferred to have the approval matrix?
5. For FI invoices (non-PO), is there a possibility to have it scanned and be routed to ICC for automatic recognition of fields? I know that ICC is mainly used for MM invoices (PO invoices), but I am not quite sure if the functionality can be used for FI invoices (non-PO).
6. Is there any preferred enterprise scanner hardware? If none, what is the most commonly used?
I hope you can find time to answer my questions as I really need it immediately. We are also checking the other VIM solutions (Readsoft, and there is another one that starts with a 'K'). But I am pushing for OpenText.

Iam trying to configure SAP Content Server 6.40 on a Solaris Sparc with Maxdb.The Content Server is running on a separate box.The CS and DB installation completed successfully.I nstalled the apache web Server which i downloaded from Apache webserver and unistalled the one that comes with Solaris.
Iam now facing problems when i try to connect to the repostories which i have created on the SAP backend.
Below are the following steps that i have done:
1.! created the repository in csadmin and oac0
2.Then it comes up with the ContentServer administration screen
3.Then i create the repository but when i display the new repository it says it doesnt exist
4.So i went into transaction SE38 and ran report RSCMST and it comes up with errors :HTTP error 405 method not allowed for the following test programs:
RSCMSTH0,RSCMSTH1,RSCMSTH2,RSCMSTH3
5. Below are the settings on the content Server in /export/home/sapcs/conf/cs.conf

2.Where is the link between the repository on ContentServer and the SAP backend?(thro the ip address/hostname and port number?)and to the repository name?
3.Is the repository on CS and SAP backend supposed supposed to have the same ?
