I am verymuhch interested to know how CMS and CMIS integrate with SAP Protal role.
I know in CMS we can give read write and folder create permission to a specific group or role , but is this possible with SAP HANA CMIS?

I am working on a implementation project for SAP VIM by OpenText. This solution normally involves scanning clients which are doing the transferring of the scanned invoices to the content repository. OpenText normally uses Enterprise Scan, which will require manual indexing of the relative information (i.e. company code, scan codes, etc.). The client doesn't want to do the manual indexing and they require that the invoices will just be fed to the scanner and it will automatically go to the content repository.
I just like to know if there is such a way to meet the client's requirements. They are saying that for other businesses using SAP, it is something possible. Please let me know your comments on this. Thanks!

I have a customer who is keen to confirm if SAP ECM will support some very specific requirements. Any input would be valuable.
First though would I be right in saying any ECM system is a combination of component from SAP such as:
Now on to some specific capability questions - can anyone advise if a SAP ECM setup can support, pretty much out-of-the-box:
I was able to answer all other questions definitively but on these, though I think SAP solutions support them - I'm not 100% certain they are good at supporting these requirements out-of-the-box.

I'm upgrading a very old Knowledge Warehouse version 640 running on Win2000 / SQL 2000.
I know I have to do a 2 step upgrade for the ABAP system, first to 7.0 then to 7.4 ...and we have already performed the system copy to the new VM running win 2008 / SQL 2008 and preparing the upgrade to 7.0 now.
My question is this: Do you think this approach will work?
Upgrade the ABAP system... then AFTER the upgrade is completed ....Re-Install the Java system using 7.4 DVD's and re-configure the necessary connections etc (Rather than upgrade the existing Java system). This seems much easier ....since there really is nothing in the Java system I'm aware of that we need to save ....and that cannot be re-configured.
Your thoughts are appreciated....

I have set up a content repository (file system storage) in our SAP system for manual attachments. The users can manually attach and retrieve documents from FB03 (for ex.).
Since these documents do not have a document number, doctype, link table and retention as we configure in OAC3, can someone explain me how can I configure retention for these manual attachments? I know that these documents are updated in the table SOOD.

I am trying to configure one CM repository to hold .css Files. Later this CM repository files will be used instead of the normal Portal Theme Files using reverse proxy in the Portal. The only requisite is Versioning of files and Cache Control. Is this the right type of repository i should be using?

Hi experts,
I want to integrate a custom report in a case record and be able to catch the context (Case GUID or CASE_ID...) for executing properly my custom report.
For integrating a report in a record using service provider for report (type RM_PS_SPS_REPORT), I assign to the node of the model the value of the attribute i would need for executing properly my custom report, to the context parameter VSELNAME. For example: REC=SRM_DOC_ID.
Moreover, in the property of my element type 'ZRM_PS_SPS_REPORT', i also set the value 'SRM_RFC_SUBMIT_REPORT' to the parameter ID 'FUNCTIONMODULE_EXECUTE'.
When executing the report node, I will get the value of SRM_DOC_ID in my SRM_RFC_SUBMIT_REPORT (in the structure table rspar) and then I can launch with the context my custom report.
This is not working with case record (structure tabe rspar is empty: an exeception occurs in the CL_SRM_SP_PROP_REPOSITORY) .
How could I achieve this requirement in a case record?

I am trying to migrate the documents from documentum to SAP Content server. The RFC destination that I created in documentum with a program ID and the same in SAP always fails with 'program not registered' error. There was already a RFC destination existing (not sure if it was created by ex-colleague) in documentum which works fine in SAP too.
I think there is something missing in the documentum side for the SAP RFC to work fine. Can anyone pls help me.

Greetings, I have a requirement to archive the non SAP documents like E-mail, scanned document and scanned images using the open text.
This is something new for me and as well as for my customer.
At this moment the current system is completely manual the letters or emails (both inbound and outbound) are stored in paper based system. They want to change this system by using the open text.
Scenario may be like this for a business partner there will be lot of Inbound and Outbound communications happening, all these communications should be stored in Open text (or equivalent storage using Open text) and the link should be stored against the business partner.
I have few questions regarding this.
1. Which team will take care of the integration of Open text with SAP?
2. Once the Open text is integrated with SAP how can I archive the non SAP documents through Open text? (Just an overview or Step by Step procedure will help me)

I have a content server 6.40 currently running on Win 2003. As Windows 2003 Server is going out of support from Q2 2015, we had a requirement to migrate our content server on to Win 2008 with installation of latest available version 6.50
Can someone help me about the notes which specifies the pre-requisite checks/compatibility of CS 6.50 with Win 2008 and also the link to installation guide for CS 6.50 on Win 2008

We migrated all the HR documents from Documentum to SAP Content server. Our content server is using Archive link as the type. We are able to open the documents from PA20, which opens with Windows photo viewer. But we are unable to print from wondows photo viewer.
The error says "Windows can't find this picture. Check the location and try again".
When the document was on documentum, we were able to print them after displaying through PA20. Can you please help.

I installed a content server at UNIX level and configured Archive link with HTTP Content server. Then I switched the content repository 'SOFFDB' in OAC0 from System Database to the 'HTTP Content server' and the connection is fine. Later I was able to attach a pdf from FB03 and could see it in my Content repository too.
Now I would like to have a new content repository created in OAC0 which is a copy of SOFFDB and when I attach any pdf's from FB03, it should be using the new content repository. But I am unable to find out where FB03 attachments are configured to be stored in SOFFDB.
Normally all the archive link repositories will be updated in OAC3 where I can change, but SOFFDB is not updated there as it is not archive link based.
Where else can I look for FB03 attachments pointing to SOFFDB which can be changed to my newly created content repository.
Currently I have changed SOFFDB to point to my content server, but I would like to have FB03 attachments use my new content server.
