We have a SAP Open Text VIM application on SP4 and we want to do some modifications like changing the text, hiding the button, etc.
However I am not able to find out the code where to make this change.
Can someone please tell me where can I find the file to make the change? What are the files to be edited.
Any help is appreciated.

Below is the functionality that we are trying to acheive : -
1) We have the facility to provide attachments at the PO item level.
2) These attachments are the DMS documents which are created in transaction CV01N.
3) Requirement is, whenever PO form is printed through messsage type automatically all the attachments (in the line item of PO) must also get printed.
We have investigated and identified the following issues until now: -
1) Printing of DMS documents involves frontend printing (i.e. SAP spool is not generated, its normal printing ). Is there a way to print this DMS document to Spool rather than using frontend printing ?
2) We can access the DMS documents data in Binary/xstring format but there is no way with which we can stream this binary/xstring data to spool ?
3) Whenever we try to print the attachments using frontend printing, incase of PDF files the file just opens and it is not printed automatically. Is there a way to print this PDF's automatically without opening it using frontend printing ?.
4) A temporary copy of the originals in the DMS documents is created in the local directory C:\tmp\. Is there a way (apart from manual way) to delete these temporary copies automatically once they are printed ?
Any help on the above issues will really help.

We have a requriement in our WDJ to upload documents to ECM and then retrieve the URL and paste in an MDM table. We go the code to upload the document via ecm/default repository but when we are trying to retrieve the resourceURL, we are getting a very long URL. Even the print statements in code is unable to print the complete URL.
I am just wondering what configuration can be made to limit to the URL. Pasting the URL below just to give idea.

Hi Guys,
I have an requirement where after scanning through enterprise scan, i need to classify the documents based on profiles, say i have two profiles PO and Non PO.
So, after scanning, PO Profile should export the files to PO folder in file system and Non PO Profile should export the files to NPO folder created in file system
I could not see about configuration in the document to achieve the same. But could analyze that it can be done through scripting.
Can anyone help me on this that how can i do scripting or is there any other way of achieving this requirement.

I am verymuhch interested to know how CMS and CMIS integrate with SAP Protal role.
I know in CMS we can give read write and folder create permission to a specific group or role , but is this possible with SAP HANA CMIS?

We installed SAP Content Server following the guide "ContServ_UNIX_640" on a new linux server; only the CS, no maxdb and no cache server.
We are using File system as storage type. We are doing this for the first time.
After the sapinst was successfully completed, we are unable to proceed further with the post installation step to create a Content repository in OAC0 by selecting 'HTTP Content Server' as the storage type because it fails with an HTTP 404 error.
Could you kindly help to answer the following:
1) What storage type needs to be selected for the File system. Is it Http content server, logical repository, RFC archive or Structure storage system?
2) If there is a 404 issue, how does SAP connect to the CS Apache Appliction as sapcs. Do we need to do anything from a credential or certificate perspective on either the sap server or content server?
We have a SAP Portal 7.3 with a SMTP regularly configured in "System configuration/KM/CM/Global service".
A Java application sends email to specific email address via the SMTP gateway.
Is there a way to see a log of smtp email requests started from the SAP Portal ?

My scenario is :
I have created a Mail Job in which mails are read from particular email id.
The attachments are stored in the ECM.
The repository for the ECM has been created.
The connection works fine for some attachments , but suddenly for some atttachments get the following error:

Hi All,
I am exploring the Visibility (Visible in Roles) setting in Records Management. Our Record model is in Release status and we are now trying to restrict access to a folder based on a role assignment. When we assign a role to the folder which we would like to secure / restrict, it does not propagate to all the records which are part of this model.
For the visibility setting to propagate to all the records, should the record model exist in Initial status or can this setting be updated in the Release status too? Why is the visibility setting maintained in the record model not propagating to the individual records?

i was able to successfully implement Digital Personnel files and Record Management for my scenario, but now question is:
i have created a record for personnel using "SE38--> Report (RPASRCREATEDPF)" or "Tx RPASRCREATEDPF) after a while i decided to add a node to my record model , how can i update my personnel records to new record model?
i need to do it for several staff and this is not logical to change record for every individual staff. Also when i deleted a record and recreated it all of old Archived and Processed Document gone.
Any Idea?

I am migrating from 32-bit 6.40 Content Server on MaxDB 7.5.00.51 (source) to 64-bit 6.50 Content Server on MaxDB 7.9.08.23. (target) using MaxDB Database Studio 7.9.08.27 to create backups on the source server and execute recoveries on the target server.
SAP Hostagent SAPHOSTAGENT203_203-20005735.SAR has been installed. SAP Note 2028088 for IIS roles has been installed. SAP Note 684106 has been applied (r3dllinst and vcredist) and MSVCR71.DLL has been applied. Ports 1090 and 1095 are open on the internal network for this server and the local system firewall has been disabled on the target server.
When I call the test url for the newly installed content server I receive the following:

When I test the connection in IIS server (Sites: SAP Cache Server: Basic Settings: Test Settings) I receive and authorization error: Cannot verify access to path (C:\Program Files\SAP\CacheServer). Details are:
"The server is configured to use pass-through authentication with a built-in account to access the specified
physical path. However, IIS Manager cannot verify whether the built-in account has access. Make sure that the
application pool identity has Read access to the physical path. If this server is joined to a domain, and the
application pool identity is NetworkService or LocalSystem, verify that <domain>\<computer_name>$ has Read access
to the physical path. Then test these settings again."
The permissions for the files and directories in the path are the same as for the Content Server dll.
Please advise as to whether this is an issue, or can be ignored
Cache server backup has been successfully restored. I am waiting on file transfer for the Content Server SDB restore.

PS. Just checked the same settings for Content Server in IIS and I think the IIS Authorization error might be a red herring. Doesn't change the issue of getting a blank page in response to calling the Cache Server test url.

Also can we use only Content Server Feature as we have no requirement for Archive at this time?
From SAP CRM system to create repository and store document is feasible and can be installed this way?

We're having an IXOS upgrade and we have to change the server name in the content repository but we're encountering below issue during archiving:
Connect Error: NiHostToAddr ftp error: NIEHOST_UNKNOWN
In CSADMIN the content repository is in red status. How can this be set to green? If we revert the change, the content repository also in green status. So this is only being encountered when the HTTP server was changed to the new server.

But the connection test in OAC0 is working successfully.

I installed a content server at UNIX level and configured Archive link with HTTP Content server. Then I switched the content repository 'SOFFDB' in OAC0 from System Database to the 'HTTP Content server' and the connection is fine. Later I was able to attach a pdf from FB03 and could see it in my Content repository too.
Now I would like to have a new content repository created in OAC0 which is a copy of SOFFDB and when I attach any pdf's from FB03, it should be using the new content repository. But I am unable to find out where FB03 attachments are configured to be stored in SOFFDB.
Normally all the archive link repositories will be updated in OAC3 where I can change, but SOFFDB is not updated there as it is not archive link based.
Where else can I look for FB03 attachments pointing to SOFFDB which can be changed to my newly created content repository.
Currently I have changed SOFFDB to point to my content server, but I would like to have FB03 attachments use my new content server.

I am trying to check the value of a characteristic when I save a document in CV01N/CV02N.
I am using IF_EX_DOCUMENT_MAIN01~BEFORE_SAVE but I have no access to classification information.
I have seen that in the same implementation there is a method call BEFORE_SEARCH_DATA that has the classification data.
How can I acces that information??
